Volunteer Expectations & Liability

The Maine Cheese Festival is committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and positive experience for all volunteers, attendees, vendors, and exhibitors. Thank you for helping create a safe and memorable experience for Maine cheese lovers from near and far!

Participation as a volunteer is voluntary, and each individual assumes responsibility for their own well-being while participating in festival activities. By registering to volunteer, individuals acknowledge that festival activities may involve walking on uneven ground, standing for extended periods, lifting light materials, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and interacting with large crowds. Volunteers are expected to work within their physical abilities, follow all instructions provided by event organizers, and immediately report any safety concerns, incidents, or injuries to festival staff. The Maine Cheese Festival reserves the right to reassign or dismiss volunteers who are unable to safely perform assigned duties or who do not adhere to festival policies, safety procedures, or staff directions. We encourage all volunteers to wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear and to stay hydrated throughout their shift. The Maine Cheese Guild is not responsible for injuries, losses, damages, or personal property that may occur while participating in volunteer activities, except as otherwise required by applicable law.

By checking this box, I acknowledge that volunteering is voluntary and that I have reviewed and agree to the Volunteer Liability and Expectations outlined above.
